Costain has a distinct pedigree which dates back to 1865 when Richard Costain - a 26 year old jobbing builder from the Isle of Man with vision - founded the original construction business in Liverpool. For more than 140 years Costain has been at the forefront of UK and international construction and was floated as a public company in 1933 with a share capital of £600,000. MMV Contracting Limited has been supplying Costain since 2004 with a range of our products and services, recently culminating in MMV being awarded the honour of providing the full range of security systems at their new head office premises in Maidenhead. MMV Contracting Ltd installed: A full CCTV system with digital recording and a mix of PTZ domes & fixed cameras, all recorder to a Videoswitch flagship digital video recorder, using motion detection and external PIR detection driving alarm presets with Optex Europe long range detectors from the Redwall range of products Access Control to a number of internal and external doors, using Paxton Access Net 2 networked system Audio Video door entry systems from BPT Automation, integrating with barriers and the Net 2 system Automatic barriers, using BPT equipment, again integrated with the Net 2 access control Intruder alarm using Menvier equipment from Cooper Security and Texecom Fire Alarm using an IAS Morley addressable system and integrating with a "flood" system for server room protection Fire extinguishers throughout the building, full installation and maintenance managed by MMV Contracting Limited The contract was completed on time and on budget and is currently covered by a comprehensive all inclusive maintenance contract by MMV Contracting Limited.

MMV Contracting Ltd installed:

Thame District Housing Association
Thame District Housing Association are a charitable organisation that provides a range of accommodation for our senior citizens within Oxfordshire & Buckinghamshire. Late in 2008, they decided to install CCTV systems on 4 of their sites that are remotely monitored providing them with a good insight of events on their sites and providing additional peace of mind to their residents MMV Contracting were chosen to fulfill this contract, not because of our price but because we were able to demonstrate our commitment to quality of products and installation to a level that TDHA were comfortable with. All the sites were surveyed thoroughly with the client and a timetable of installation provided and adhered to. The project was completed without problem on time and once again on budget. As well as providing CCTV to the sites, MMV Contracting also won the opportunity of supplying automatic gate control using a telephone based audio entry system from Noralsy. We look forward to maintaining a long working relationship with the Association.

St Martins In The Field Church
As part of our association with Costain Plc, we became involved in an award winning project site that Costain were running. The extensive refurbishment and extension of the church was undertaken by Costain, MMV Contracting Ltd initially provided the site with perimeter security, incorporating CCTV, access control and audio video door entry. After Costain had experienced problems with the scaffold security system, we were asked to provide a solution to that. We installed additional CCTV monitoring, external scaffold protection and detection, together with communications equipment for out of hours monitoring. This proved to be more successful than the original installation. Toward project completion MMV were approached by Costain to undertake reinstatement of the Church's CCTV system, unusually not for security proposes but to enable the organist to monitor Conductor activity within the Church when providing musical support to the orchestra's that play there or for timing the music to the bride's entry for wedding services. A 10" CCTV monitor and 3 cameras linked to a remote alarm sequence control provide the organists with all the tools to ensure they never miss a cue!

Sobell House Hospice Charity Shops
In 1991 the trading Company was formed to become part of Sobell House Hospice Charity, allowing us to open our first two shops in Bicester and Little Clarendon Street, Oxford. There are currently seven Charity outlets raising funds for Sobell House Hospice Charity in Oxfordshire. They sell a variety of goods, most of which have been donated by people in the local area. In addition to the shops there is also a furniture warehouse in Witney, which opens for sales the 2nd Sunday of every month. MMV Contracting Ltd were asked by one of their local customers, Hugh Fraser from the Fraser Group of petrol retail outlets if we could assist in providing security systems to the charity's retail outlets as they were being targeted by shoplifters. We have installed CCTV cameras and Cop digital recording equipment to their shops and have manage to provide significant reductions in shrinkage as well as some very useful video footage useful as evidence. As a gesture of goodwill the systems were installed virtually at cost as a measure of our support.
