A properly designed, installed and regularly maintained intruder alarm is a very effective deterrent to a large number of criminals and is quite often a requirement of insurance cover for your home or business.  Whether wired or wireless, home factory or office, MMV Contracting Limited can design, install or maintain a system that is within your scope of requirement and budget.

Once your alarm is installed, you need to consider how you need to be able to respond to it, the options are as follows:

Redcare monitoring - usually required when a police response is necessary to your alarm activation, your telephone line is monitored for continuity of service and in the event of malfunction is reported possibly as an alarm event.  This requires a separate BT line installation.

Central station monitoring - involves a digital communicator being fitted to your alarm panel, in the event of activation, the system calls the Central Station operators who in turn call your nominated key holders.

Speech dialler - By far the cheapest (and some say most effective!) method of monitoring your alarm.  Upon alarm activation, the system calls up to 10 pre-programmed numbers, landlines or mobiles, possibly sending a text message too.  Can be connected to existing analogue telephone lines, or use a GSM Sim card so no line installation needed at all!

Bells only – by far the cheapest and probably least cost effective as all that happens upon activation is the bells ring on site.  This MIGHT result in a neighbour or passer by having a look to see what has caused the alarm and it MIGHT frighten away the odd burglar or two, but generally a ringing alarm is considered a nuisance, you really need to know yourself when that alarm has activated so that you can respond accordingly

Redcare and NACOSS or SSAIB certified and monitored alarms WILL cost you more, both in terms of installation design & equipment costs and ongoing line rental and maintenance.

Please bear in mind that although police response can be offered, business crime is of a VERY low priority to most police forces and once police response to your alarm has been lost, it takes a good deal of time, effort and usually more money to get it back.  Try and avoid Redcare Police Response unless it is vital to your operation, generally only 2 people are interested in your alarm going off,
